Christmas is all around...

Ho ho ho! Merry Christmas! :)

Finally, winter holidays came, so everyone has plenty of free time. We can enjoy time of laziness, meeting with friends and family, just sleep or eat enormous quantity of delicious christmassy food ^^

Decorating christmas tree is quite fun, especially when you do it with children or close friends. Before that, you can prepared you own ornaments from paper or other fabrics. Don't forget about christmas gifts!

Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day are the holy days of... eating. Yes, that's it. What more can you do? Isn't that wonderful, when you have nothing to do, just lay down in a couch, turn on Love Actually or Home Alone (don't forget about the sequel!) and chill out eating some sweets...

My dear cat was tricking me so many times, couldn't have found her sitting calmly next to Christmas tree. She was moving all time, just waiting for some cat's delicacy... Today she let me take a photo. Finally! :)

In Poland, there are lots of traditions. I bet, you can't imagine how many...  Here, I'd like to present you a pretty good site, where you can find out something interesting about Christmas in Poland:

You won't regret visiting this page ;)

Anyway, the New Year is coming up quickly. So, prepare your New Year's Resolution, which I wish you to come true :) This last day of year, just spent a while to think about whole 2014: what you did, what you wanted to do, what made you happy, where have you been, just sum it up. Maybe, you'll find out some amazing memories you have :)

So, Vivienne and me wish you very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year !! :)

Wrocław again

Last weekend I visited my friends in Wrocław. We spent really good time together, it was a little bit more than two days, but it was awesome!

Because of the upcoming Christmas, all city was decorated into beautiful ornaments, there was a Christmas fair at the old market square - plenty of wooden huts where people were selling some traditional dishes, hot chocolate or hot vine (in Poland we call it grzaniec), hand-made jewelry or other handcrafts... Of course, there was a beautiful Christmas tree at the center, in front of it there was Santa's sleigh made of ice! The sleigh was prepared Saturday afternoon, so it hasn't been melting yet.

I have to admit that Wrocław is a wonderful city. Even though it's not snowing and the weather is kind of tricky, here you can really feel that Christmas' gonna be soon!

Anyway, the most important thing to me was seeing my best friends, have incredible fun with them and collect new memories ;)

Actually, we were supposed to go ice-skating, but unfortunately, there wasn't time for this entertainment. Next time, for sure! Generally, we were shopping a lot. Never have I visited such many h&m stores than this weekend! After, we were just hanging out together having some pizza... :)

All in all, I had such good time, can't wait next meeting during Christmas holidays!!

American Beauty

I have seen lots of movies but this one is the greatest one! American beauty, the winner of precious movie awards like Oscars, BAFTAs or the Golden Globes is really worth seeing.

Directed by Sam Mendes in 1999 shows the story of 42-year-old Lester Burnham. He's life is quite ordinary: he has a job in advertising, a big house with a marvellous garden, a lovely wife and a beautiful daughter. It's almost everything why people dream about. Is it? Actually, inside the house isn't that wonderful as it should be: Lester's wife is no more attractive to him, she's rather focused on her own career. What's more, his teenage daughter, Jane, has typical problems for her age - she feels that her mother neglects her, doesn't love her anymore. In school there is a boy who acts weirdly: he follows her, he behaves as if he was a freak. Also, her best friends, mysterious Angela, seems to be better daughter for Jane's parents.

All to all, the protagonist started to, Lester starts to feel lonely, he needs someone who could spent free time with him. Actually, the main character suffer from midlife crisis. One day he meets Angela who is a cheerleader as well as Jane. He starts to have feelings for her... what's more, he has totally changed his life style: he exercises every day, he makes his life more active. Not only had he make a gym in his garage, he's also changed his point of view on different things. More time he spends in gym, more he's happy, relaxed. Moreover, he tries drugs which make him more open and in good mood.

Anyway, I don't want to spoil anything, especially the ending which is extremely unpredictable! Anywise, the movie is really worth seeing. Kevin Spacey as a protagonist, his movie wife - Annette Bening and other cast (we can see Thora Birch, Wes Bentley, Mena Suvari or Peter Gallagher) are amazing! We can easily recognize some familiar movie faces.

Also, American beauty was awarded many times (5 Oscars, 6 BAFTAs, 3 Golden Globes)... These all prizes show the prestige of movie. The film was totally box office! It's one of the most popular movies in late 90s and early XXI century. I suppose that nobody could have imagined how famous American beauty was going to be. What's more, many people want to watch it even several times. All things together undoubtedly show American beauty's success!
Generally, it's breath-taking movie. Many twists of action, wonderful script, amazing acting, fantastic plot. Furthermore, the film is quiet amusing, there are plenty of funny situations, but we can also see some tears... Briefly, American beauty should be on your must-see movie list! :)

To sum up, I do recommend American beauty to any of you. It's movie which shows contemporary problems. What's more, it may be even more recent nowadays. Why? I think that American beauty show you the answer! :)

Welcome to Kraków! ^^

At the end of previous holidays I visited my best friend - Roksana who lives in Kraków. I spent there almost 2 weeks. Incredible weeks! ^^
Kraków is a place must-be, must-see. It's the most amazing, fabulous city in Poland! You just have to go there. Anyway, I've been there several times, but this one was a special one, because I spent time with my best friend! :)

I had lot of free time and some savings, so these 2 weeks became really awesome. Kraków is rather big city, so there is quite lot to see and we were so curious, so keen to experience everything, to take part in every event, to go each places, to meet amazing people, we just wanted adventures... and our wishes became true!

At day, we came to wonderful old market square, just to look around, then we visited some restaurants, for ex. Georgian restaurant where we had such delicious meals, we tried new tastes...

We participated in free walking tours - themed little trips in English or Spanish (for foreigners) which shows marvelous, sometimes forgotten places in Kraków. Of course, we took part in each tour in English. It was amazing! We met so many kind people, you can't even imagine how great adventure was it! There were such tours as: Jewish Kraków, Old Kraków, Foods of Kraków (Polish food exactly), Kraków Macabre (really good one!), Street Art and more...

Moreover, we went to Wawel Castle, Manufaktura Czekolady, Wedel, to Jewish quarter (it's so long story), Barbacan, Florian's Gate... Actually, to some place we've been like three times a day! Kraków's so worth it! ^^

Alone, I went to Kościuszko mound, to Salt Mine in Wieliczka and to Łagiewniki. If you are in Kraków, these are ones of places must-see.

Jewish quarter known as well as Kazimierz surprised me a lot. Being there in the middle of night, having party with all amazing people you've just met, it's something unforgettable! Actually, all Kazimierz is like another city. Amazing, wonderful places, beautiful for movies' backgrounds.
In Kazimierz starts to live at evening. I can't even describe well what I feel. It need to be there, to feel the ambience! These all pubs at Plac Nowy (New Square) which surrounded the rotunda at the center of the square where like from a fairy tale. And the rotunda - incredible places where you can find like ten of snack bar and you can buy only one thing: zapiekanka (polish snack - drunk food)
What a delicious zapiekanka's we had there! ^^

What's more, we did a Pub Crawl there, what a night was it! All pubs near old market square and in Kazimierz in one night. We visited such fascinating places. Kraków is full of surprises!

Every time we've been hungry, we went to Szewska street to McDonald. Ice-creams at 3h am are really a good idea, trust me! ;)

Kraków is known as a city of famous artists, and that's true: we've met Paweł Królikowski (Kusy from "Ranczo") and Victor the husarian knight, we took part in Masterchef's happening etc...

Right now, I have such wonderful memories, hope that I could experience more adventures like these in Kraków. Not only won't I forget these all events, also I will always know have wonderful friend I have! ^^

THANK YOU, MY DEAR ROKSANA! :)

Holi Open Air Wrocław 2014

My previous holidays was plenty of events. As you already know, I've been to Międzyzdroje, but also I've visited Wrocław. There was Holi Open Air Festival, so without any hesitation I took part in it. It had place at Świebodzki Train Station on 30 August.
It was such great experience to be there, to see these all young people having fun together!

There was a stage where were some concerts there, in front of it thousands of people, especially students, who came there to celebrate Festival of Colors. Almost everyone had some white clothes, but when the concerts started the t-shirts and other stuff suddenly became so colorful, you can't imagine what happened!

At 8h pm everyone just started the party: many different colorful powder was thrown in the air, one big scream filled my ears after that a band started to play the music. It was awesome! I've never experienced anything like that! You just had to be there, to see this big show, to feel it!

Late evening, it started to rain, so everyone was dirty of mud, powder and other stuff...
It was really fun! Actually, some guys was afraid of the rain, they were running away to find some good place to hide, to shelter from the rain... But mostly, people stayed in front of the stage, just dancing, having incredible fun!

There were a few contests, so it was a possibility to win some t-shirts or other stuff which promoted Holi Open Air.

Anyway, I've meet a lot of amazing people, had unbelievable fun and what's more, I've made my boring, ordinary life more exciting ;)

If you have an opportunity to take part in events like that one, please don't hesitate, just go, because it's really good to make your life more and more wonderful, to meet other people, to experience, to live! :)

World Gliding Championships 2014

This evening another adventure of my summer holidays, precisely something interesting for aircraft followers - 33th World Gliding Championships 2014! :)
This year my hometown had the pleasure of being the host of these championships. The third time such an event had place in Leszno (about 70 km from Poznań).

At first shot, some info: I have to say immodestly  that when it comes to gliding, Leszno is the perfect place! You can't believe it, can you? As we regards the highest, the speed, the soaring, the landing and other stuff connected with this kind of sport and its tasks, there were reached the best scores. It may be so funny for you, especially the fact that there is no runway! This airport can host only the aeroplanes, the power gliders, the gliders and the balloons. What's more, there you can do parachuting or visit brand-new aerodynamic tunnel (only one in Poland!). Actually, I've been there, too, it was so wonderful feeling when you can FLY ^^ I mean it! ;)

Let's come back to the WGC. My cousin and me were in the grid team. We came to the airport at 7h45 at morning, went to grid and set it that the gliders could have easly find place. It was great, we could have met pilots all over the world, practise ours language skills, just had fun.

When it was about 11h we had to check out if everything is ok, and each glider is set in its right place. Then became the best part of day - the start! I was Miss Flag, I've just been waving the flags, that pilots could have seen me and some guys from grid team could have fastened a glider to a plane.

In front of you about seven plans, you hear such a noise, because of the engines. Behind you almost 130 gliders. It's sunny. No wind, just some cumulus at the sky. You're just seeing how it all works. And somehow you know everything. You feel amazing. It's so incredible!

Anyway, then we had free time, about 3h - it depended of the tasks. Meanwhile we could have had lunch and after that one we just came back to the grid to wait…
My cousin is so crazy about flying, and he tried to convince me to go to some pilots and ask them if the could take us for a flight. It was really important, especially to him, because none of us have never flied and there we had an opportunity to do it. Mateusz told me that the fact that I'm a POLISH GIRL, who speaks english, is great, so I can easly convice some pilots to take us. It was such a good idea, wasn't it? ;)

Sooo, I came... Found them... Asked... And they took me. Just ME! It was my first flight ever! Just about 7 minuts, but in small beautiful plane and the pilot even did some acrobatic stuff in the air! ^^
I'll never forget it! Actually, Mateusz was terribly jealous, but finally he flied in glider. That was something!

To sum up, it was such an amazing experience. I'm really glad that I could have been a part of it. Next season (in April) I'll perhaps come back to the airport to make a gliding licence! ^^

Międzyzdroje 2014

Welcome back! :)
Firstly, I wanna apologise you for not writting since tree months - there were holidays, so free time, laziness and so on...
Anyway, I've come back with plenty things to tell you, guys!
Let's begin with holidays, so my vacances started on first of July, I came with my two bestfriends to Międzyzdroje which lies in north-west part of Poland.
Międzyzdroje is a small well-known tourist city. It's famous because of the Aleja Gwiazd (The Stars Alley) which is dedicated to the polish artists who made many great things to polish culture and every year there is a special event when same stars go to Międzyzdroje and make a fossil (monument) of their hands which gonna be located in that Alley. Actually, we was the the same time when this whole event took place, so we could have seen some polish actors and singers.
We were living at my friend's suite. The appartament lies near the beach, so we had breathtaking view from our balcony. There were also a swimming pool and sauna at the roof (12th floor) ot the building, so we spent quite time there. Of course, we went on the beach, too! Not only was we swimming, we had also sunbathing. The weather was really great, sunny every single day (except the first day of our arrival when it was raining), no wind, no cloud, it was perfect!
One day we went to Świnoujście, which is about 20 km from Międzyzdroje and lies at the border with Germany. There we had such a delicious dinner in a fish bar!

Generally, we was walking every evening at molo, had some parties at night, met nice people, swam in pool at 3h at morning... that was it. Three girls, one week, lots of fun!

We had really amazing time, it was just a week, but I'll never forget this wonderful week!
THANK YOU EWA AND DOMINIKA FOR SUCH FUN WITH YOU GUYS! :)
Can't wait for next holidays ^^

Summer is coming!

Hey people, how you doing? Yep, that was exact question which Joey ('Friends") usually says. Anyway, do you have any plans for upcoming holidays? Maybe you would visit some new places, wonderful nooks of nature and so on..
When it comes to me, my friends and I, we're going to Międzyzdroje, it's rather small city near sea-coast at the north of Poland. I hope that weather won't be making 'tricks' and it will be beautiful and sunny. Honestly, can't wait this holidays, it's only one week with my best friends then I come back to Poznań to work there during summer.

That's all if you ask me about my holidays'
plans. Today, I'd like to show you Poznań. It's amazing city, which I really recommend to everyone: the visitors, the people who want to move here, the students and especially to foreigners. Poznań is special place, there is everything you need to live.

The city has lots of things to offer to the guests. Theatres, museums, cinemas. There is an enormous diversity of parks there. Many, many green areas. Plenty of clubs just wait for students who look for enjoyable moments. That's tempting, isn't it? :P

Not only can you make new friends, you can even find your love! ^^ Who knows what's waiting for you in Poznań ;) If you're curious just come and see! :)

Kabaret Moralnego Niepokoju

Good evening!
What's up? today just brief note. As you all know there are many ways to spend your free time. One of my favourites is cabaret, especially the polish groups. When it comes to whole polish entertainment and show business world, not only does the cabaret provide the highest quality of fun, it also allows people to gain new experiences like taking part in performance. When groups have some improvisations in their schedules, they allow spectators [or sometimes force them ;) ] to participate its. Usually, viewers eagerly come on stage. Everyone wants to have incredible fun and meet their favourites artists of course.
There are lots of polish cabaret groups, cause that branch of entertainment is highly developed. I suppose that anyone can find something special.
Let me introduce you Kabaret Moralnego Niepokoju. Nowadays, it's the most popular team. Przemysław Borkowski, Mikołaj Cieślak, Robert Górski, Rafał Zbieć and Magda Stużyńska-Brauer create extraordinary team. Actually, it was Kasia Pakosińska who was 'the first lady' in this cabaret, but bad things happened, so she decided to leave the group. Anyway, Robert Górski, as a team leader and an author of many sketches, became the funniest well-known person in Poland. He makes such wonderful plays, his very gifted when it comes to make jokes sophisticated and simple either. He can make the audience to burst into laugh thousands times.
I had the pleasure to watch their performance twice. What's more, I could have visited them after shows, talked with them and so on. Actually, it was one of my dreams to be on their concert, but meet with them, shake their hands, hug them and so on... it was incredible experience to see how they are on the other side of curtains. Seriously. Right know I have beautiful memories. :)

"Tata ze wsi" watch and enjoy! :)

Very popular skech. Watch. Laugh. Enjoy! ;)

Theatre - my first love!

Hello my dear followers!
Everybody has some dreams and wants them to come true. When I was little girl, I was dreaming about being actress like majority of children. Everyone had dreams like that. To do something wonderful, amazing, breath-taking. Being children has many positive things, but for me, the best one is the fact that in this age kids are open-minded and have intricate imagination. They can make their world to be extraordinary. "Living" in that world is much better than reality. All you have to do is imagine.
Anyway, I found this magic world in the theatre. When you make a step on stage, feel shine of lights, feel thousands of eyes looking at you and see your friends with whom you make the spectators smiling, laughing or even crying.. and when the courtains fall down and you notice that they want more and more.. all this is magic. For me. The best memories of my life are connected with my friends and the theatre of course. Some of my dreams came true.
We have limited amount of time in our lives and everyone wants his life to be awsome. So live our lives the best we can. Wish you all to make your dreams come true! ;)

I'll be there for you

Good evening :)
Sometimes I notice that my English is so bad, no progress and I start to think that I come back to the basic stuff. Don't know meaning of some easy words, which I should know; making ridiculous mistakes and so on. Not only is it annoying, it's also anxious. To improve my English skills, I've started watching Tv series - "Friends", which really recommend. There are 10 seasons, each one has about 24/25 episodes which last around 25-30 minutes.
As title says, series is about six best friends who have lots of amazing, very suprising situations in their lives. We can follow them and have fun of their wonderful and laughable adventures. During the series we observe how their friendship can go through intricate difficulties and troubles. Even though they sometimes have huge arguments, they can forgive one another. Funny wordplays, many entertaining moments as well as many famous guests like Julia Roberts, George Clooney or Robin Williams. When it comes to language, it's rather simple, you can it easly understand. Of course, sometimes, there are some complex words connected with specific area of life like paleontology (Ross Geller is a paleontologist) or other stuff (it depends of episode's subject). Anyway, the series is worth watching, so if you have free time and don't know what to do, "Friends" wait for you!

Learning with fun, that's what I've wanted! ;)

Decoupage

Hey, what's up?
Have you ever heard about decoupage? Maybe you know more than I?
Actually, in events like that, I took part twice. It was lots of  fun with it. If you don't know how to make some easy decoupage stuff, you will probably an expert after reading it ;)
There was lots of empty beer bottles which were coloured on white. Also, there was many napkins, really, plenty different shaped and coloured napkins. Firstly, we should have chosen some napkins, which we had like. I chose one with teddy bear and one with Eiffel Tower and lots with many decorative things, you know, flowers and so on. Chosen? ok, then, we had to cut out our napkins' figures, when it comes to me, it was a teddy bear and Eiffel Tower. A napkin has three layers, so we had to split the layers, because we needed only one - the most coloured. When all napkins' figures were prepared to be glue onto the bottles, we had to take some glue and "paint" the bottles into glue, then put the figures on it. When some didn't want to paste, then you should try again with glue. When whole bottles dry of glue, it will be good if you paint them with some transparent laquer.
Do you have unneeded bottles? And don't know what to do with you free time? Perhaps you like arts? Just take you friends and have fun. Decoupage is an amazing activity for everyone :)

E-reading - better than books?

Hellou everyone! How is your Easter?
During Easter we have lots of free time, so we can do whatever we want to. I started to read great book, very intricate and inquistive. It's "Rebecca" - a novel by English author Daphne du Maurier. During reading I was thinknig about e-reading, you know, what's better: paper version of book or the electric one.

Actually, once, I tried to become an e-reader – I bought a smartphone, then downloaded applications for e-readers, and at least I started looking for some books which I’d liked to read. I found some polish, english and even french novels, which I really admire and I think that they are the miracles of literature. So, when I got Harry Potter and Sorcerer’s Stone I immediately started to read it. Before some conclusions about e-reading, I have to admit that I had read this book in paper version first. And I incredibly enjoyed it. Firstly, e-reading was a pleasure for me, because I had my cell always with me so, I could read Harry in a train or when I was waiting for an appointment with a doctor. Actually, I could read it wherever I was. To be honest, it was only positive thing which I’ve noticed. When I started reading (using smartphone) my eyes were tired in a spare of a moment. Also, the form of e book wasn’t for me. When I read something, I have to feel a book, to touch the paper, to smell the specific scent of books, especially of old ones. I love to fold the spine, ”to mark” a book (by chocolate for example –during reading I eat a lot). For me, books are like friends, and it’s very important to make a bond between a reader and a book.

Finally, I think that I’m not a follower of e- reading. Even though nowadays people use all these hi-tech devices, and more and more of us become e-readers, I’m certain that I’ll never be one of them. What about you? Which way of reading do you prefer?
